Q & A
Okay, okay, I know my last couple of posts have been about the snow we have had here in Chicago over the last few days....but hell there isn't a whole lot else going on that's worth writing about. I will mention this one little thing though. I am sitting at work yesterday and my phone rings. It is my mortgage broker and he has been working with me on this investment property I am trying to close on....anyway he tells me that there is a collection on showing up on my credit file....
** An instantaneous look of concern drapes over my face**
Apparently, there was an outstanding cell phone account that was showing up there. I immediately get on the horn and start calling the credit bureaus to find out just what the hell is going on. Once I got the information regarding the account, I contacted that collection agency and paid the bill. I even managed to get them to fax me a letter clearly stating that the item was to be removed. I contacted Experian first and was completely not satisfied with the level of customer service I received. I even explained to them my dilemma and the sense of urgency surrounding it...all to no avail...useless I tell you.....useless. I explained that it was imperative that this blemish be removed ASAP due to the upcoming closing....all of this meant nothing to them. I tried to see if I could fax that same letter I received so they would have proof that the bill was in fact paid and the entry removed....this chick on the end of the phone was like "We can accept faxes"..WTF!?!?! is that about, somebody please tell me. I mean I know there are some shady, sheisty characters out there that would try to send in BOGUS letters just to see if they could get negative info removed, but c'mon I am DaKelzz!! lol
Anyway it ended up with me just having to wait and see when they are gonna decide to make the correction. But you best believe I will be on the phone with the collection agency until they do submit the correct info to those credit bureaus. And any of you all that have had bad credit, know that it ain't about shit...once you manage to get your shit straight you tend to want to keep it that way!! Feel me?
I thought that it may be a good time to do my own little Q & A session. I know that we are all just one big happy Blogging family and I am opening up the floor for any and all questions that you may have about DaKelzz...anything your little heart desires I will do my best to try and answer...
Happy Friday!!

One question. When can a sista get Season Two? Just kidding. Kinda.
I'll be back with some more later. It's kinda hard, cuz I already know all ya damn bidness.
Pay ya bills on time from now on.
What makes you happy Kelvin? :)
What was your most memorable event from last year?
Kelzz...I have to come back with questions later but I did want to help you on your little (yes it could be worse) credit issue. I deal with this kind of stuff everyday...the letter that you have should be enough to take with you on the day of closing (actually I would take care of this before hand). Credit bureaus normally have 30 days to remove incorrect information, which may not help you if your closing is before that. Your best bet would be to write a letter to all three credit bureaus (TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian) explaining your situation to them along with a copy of proof that you paid. This is something that can give to your broker as well. You may know this stuff already but just in case you don't FYI
i agree with shaunte'. also, if by chance, the information was false on your credit report, you could also have gone to closing with letters that were mailed to each of the credit bureaus and the cell phone companies stating that you wanted proof of the bill's validity. that's what i did when i closed, cuz the phone company never proved that i'd even incurred the charges and my account was supposed to be closed at that time.
I had a militant ass loan officer whose company worked with a rescoring company. The company takes the proof of collections payment letter and has all of the bureaus to rescore you within 48 hours after you fax the app & the proof. They did it for me for an old SBC bill. Ask the mortgage broker if their credit report supplier has a rescoring option (Score Express), if not, he/she may want to join up. It may sound shady but it's legit and I saw it and experienced it w/ my own little eyes. Here is the company that did mine:

If not, I'm sure your letter from the collection company saying you paid it off will work for you esp. if that's the only contingency holding you up!
Good Luck!! Keish--Chicago
